Fishing is a hard life, and harder with blue fin stocks depleted. In Gloucester, Massachusetts, there's a special breed of fishermen. For generations they've used rod and reel to catch the elusive blue fin tuna. They depend on these fish for their livelihood, and the competition is brutal.

For this piece Cypher was brought in to design style frames for the upcoming season of Wicked Tuna.  They were looking for a type of ink reveal/wipe that would combine their  live-action footage with stylize illustrations that would visualize the rough and grungy campaign these fisherman push for.  So we look to old maps, ink splats, and a grungy rough texture layouts to create these vignettes.
